Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over is a pressure-sensitive, repositionable liquid adhesive that creates a temporary, sticky hold. It is designed to let you stick and unstick items multiple times without leaving a sticky residue, making it a staple for both crafters and teachers.
What It's Used For
- Appliqués & Patches: Temporarily attach fabric appliques, badges, and trims to garments so you can move or remove them for different outfits.
- Crafting: Great for creating DIY glue dots, securing stencils, and holding window clings.
- Mat Refinishing: Highly popular in the paper crafting community for restoring the stickiness of worn-out cutting mats (like Cricut or Silhouette).
- Classroom Activities: An excellent, mess-free, and flexible alternative to Velcro for children's learning boards and manipulatives.
Key Features
- Temporary Bond: Stays permanently tacky until peeled off, but doesn't make a permanent, damaging bond.
- Safe: It is water-based, non-toxic, and dries clear and flexible.
- Versatile: It adheres well to fabric, wood, paper, metal, glass, and plastic. Note: It is not recommended for silk, leather, rayon, or polyester.
Tips for Best Use
- Application: Apply a thin layer and allow it to dry for 20–30 minutes until it becomes tacky and clear.
- For Cutting Mats: When restoring cutting mats, many crafters dilute the glue with an equal amount of distilled water and brush on a thin layer, letting it dry completely overnight before use.
- If it's too sticky: If the adhesive is accidentally applied too thickly, you can reduce its tackiness by gently pressing a piece of fabric (like a t-shirt) into it a few times
