A water-based acrylic polymer varnish with Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers [UVLS]. Waterborne Varnish protects interior acrylic paintings from dust and ultraviolet light. It can be thinned and cleaned up with water, eliminating the need for harsh solvents, and can be removed with household ammonia to facilitate cleaning and conservation. (Item # 7711-Gloss)

Golden Artist Colors is excited to introduce our newly formulated Waterborne Varnish after a raw material discontinuation forced us to halt production of Polymer Varnish in 2021.  Fielding a number of artist requests for waterborne varnish during that time, GOLDEN is eager to get Gloss Waterborne Varnish into artist studios!  Artists should also look for updates later this year as a Matte sheen is currently in development! 

Varnish provides a layer of protection on artwork that resists retention of dirt and dust.  A true “varnish” can be removed to facilitate cleaning. Gloss Waterborne Varnish is removable in addition to containing Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers (UVLS) to provide protection from exposure to sunlight.

GOLDEN Waterborne Varnish is for use on interior acrylic paintings and can be applied without the need for harsh solvents for thinning, cleanup or removal, or ventilation and other precautions necessary when working with mineral spirit varnish.
