Clear Tar Gel
This product is the extreme in leveling. It is designed to produce an even film with excellent clarity. The gel has a unique resinous, stringy consistency and dries to a flexible, high gloss film.

Clear Tar Gel can be used increase transparency and sheen while imparting a leveling quality to other GOLDEN Acrylic products. Excellent for dripping, drizzling effects that no other product will yield. Blends with all GOLDEN Acrylic colors (though Fluids work best) offering a full range of colors for these techniques.

GOLDEN Clear Tar Gel is a unique, 100% acrylic, colorless, and highly resinous medium with an extremely stringy, honey-like consistency. It is used for creating fine, controlled drips, drizzles, and slick textures, or as a leveling agent in acrylic paints. It dries to a flexible, high-gloss, and transparent finish. 

Key Features and Applications:

• Unique Consistency: Known for its "long rheology," it can be stretched into thin, continuous strands without breaking.
• Dripping & Drizzling: Ideal for creating abstract, linear, and detailed marks on painting surfaces.
• Leveling Agent: When mixed into Acrylics, it increases flow and leveling, resulting in a smoother, less textured brushstroke.
• Compatibility: Mixes easily with GOLDEN Heavy Body, Fluid, Matte, and High Load Acrylics.
• Versatility: Can be used as an extender to create transparent glazes while increasing gloss.
• Handling & Crazing: It is best applied in layers less than 1/8" thick to avoid surface cracking (crazing). 
   

Important Tips:

• Drying Time: While it dries quickly, thick pours can take a long time to cure and release trapped air bubbles.
• Cleanup: Easily cleaned up with soap and water.
• Usage: Ideal for abstract art, mixed media, and enhancing fine-line details in painting.
