Ranger Ink Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paste is a dimensional medium used to create authentic, weathered, and aged effects on craft projects.
Key Features and Variations
Two Finishes: Available in Opaque (dries to a matte, solid white finish) and Translucent (dries to a glossy, see-through finish that allows underlying layers to show).
Authentic Fissures: Instead of a printed texture, the paste naturally splits and tears apart as moisture evaporates, creating genuine, three-dimensional fissures.
Versatile Surfaces: Adheres beautifully to paper, canvas, wood, and chipboard.
How to Use It
Application: Spread it freely with a palette knife or press it through stencils for defined shapes.
Controlling the Crackle: The size of the cracks depends on how thick you apply the paste. Thick layers will produce large, dramatic cracks, while thin layers will create delicate, subtle "crazing".
Coloring: The paste accepts color wonderfully. You can mix pigments, paints, or reinkers into the wet paste, or let it dry and color the cracks afterward using inks, stains, or distress crayons.
